Purpose: The purpose of this project is to gain a better understanding of federal funding allocation for U.S. based anti-trafficking organizations by analyzing financial statements of four different anti-trafficking organizations (ADAPT, not for sale (NFS), International justice mission (IJM), and streetlight tucson) and by specifically considering organizations that are taking one of the 4 P's approach to combating human trafficking (Prevention, Protection, Prosecution, Partnerships) as outlined in the united states' Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA) and by reviewing programs that were funded by the Department of State's Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (G/TIP) during the past fiscal year of 2011. Objectives: 1) provide a general overview of human trafficking and the current funding situation for u.s. anti-trafficking organizations. 2) Explain the 4'Ps paradigm framework. 3) introduce each organization. 4) analyze the current sources of funding for each anti-trafficking organization. 5) propose recommendations based on findings .
