an Improved Strategic financial Plan The U.S. must continue to develop a comprehensive strategic financial plan that reflects an integrated approach to addressing the 4P’s of prevention, protection, prosecution, and partnerships, however based on findings from this project, the u.s. should increase its funding and emphasis on prevention and protection efforts.
for prevention, the u.s. should prioritize implementation of prevention initiatives that address core contributing factors to trafficking victims. it should take initiatives that place an emphasis on economic development strategies that would help individuals who are especially at-risk to find and hold stable jobs in their communities and countries of origin. A majority of women and children around the world are especially vulnerable to trafficking and in order to keep them from falling prey to vicious repetitive trafficking situations, prevention efforts must be encouraged and financially supported.
for protection, The u.s. should ensure that victims of trafficking receive comprehensive and appropriate services. It is clear that housing is one of their most urgent and consistently needed services in the country, therefore funding should be increased for human trafficking shelters that provide protection and restoration services for these victims. Federal agencies that have custody of trafficking survivors should be able to find an appropriate place for housing that will provide for their specific needs.
ESTABLISH A COMPREHENSIVE MONITORING SYSTEM TO DETERMINE GOVERNMENT'S EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS IN DISTRIBUTING FUNDS FOR COMBATING HUMAN TRAFFICKING. have a clear idea of the projects that are undertaken by anti-trafficking organizations and MAKE SURE FEDERAL FUNDS ARE BEING APPROPRIATELY DISTRIBUTED according to the organization's mission and supported projects.
